Leroy Yarbrough (September 17, 1938 – December 7, 1984) was an American professional stock car racing driver. He competed in NASCAR's premier series from 1960 to 1970 and won 14 races in his career, including the 1969 Daytona 500. Yarbrough was known for his aggressive driving style and often found himself at odds with other drivers. He struggled with alcoholism and mental health issues later in his life, and died from injuries sustained in a single-car accident in 1984 at the age of 46. Despite his brief career, Yarbrough was one of the most talented drivers of his era and remains a legendary figure in NASCAR history.
